BEATRICE CRONA is the Executive Director of the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere (GEDB) programme at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She is also deputy science director at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stockholm University.
Crona is one of the main contributors to the Sleeping Financial Giants project, which looks at how banks, pension funds and other institutional investors influence critical elements in the earth’s climate and ecosystems. Conducted in collaboration with Future Earth, it identifies key ecosystems for global climate stability and traces the links to large financial institutions with the power to influence the trajectory of these regions. The project has generated considerable interest both in international media as well as the global finance sector.
